James Manson's Obituary
James Manson Jr., 93 of Fairfield Twp. died early Wednesday morning August 26, 2009 in South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland, where he had been a patient for the past week and a half.
Born and raised in Rushmere, Virginia, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Mary Manson and the husband of the late Annie Lou Manson who passed in 1985. He had been a resident of the Gouldtown area for several years and prior to moving to this area had lived in Philadelphia. Mr. Jimmy has he was often called was formerly employed with Bandavoya and Sons Metal Recycling Co. in Camden and Salem Brass and Iron for over 25 years as a truck driver until his retirement. He was well known for settling many difficult situations, not with the use of force, but by showing he always carried a persuader. Mr. Jimmy also in his younger years, was involved with real estate, often buying and selling various properties in the area. He was a World War II U.S.Navy veteran and had served on the LST-325 during the invasion of Normandy Beach on D-Day. He was a former member of the Emanuel Masonic Lodge #17 and a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church, Cedarville. He is survived by his three sons Bernard Manson of Fairfield Twp., Bernard Robinson of Newport News, Virginia, and Charles Faulk of West Deptford, one brother William Manson of Newport, NJ, three sisters Hazel Higginbotham and Jenny Mosley both of Newport, NJ and Lillian Gould of Bridgeton, and a special step son John Boy, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
