James E. Green Sr.'s Obituary
James E. Green Sr. 82 of Bridgeton, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning December 9, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side.
Born in Bridgeton he was the son of the late Isaac and Bessie nee Wynder Green and the husband of Matilda nee Gould Green. Mr, and Mrs. Green had been local residents all of their lives. James was born and raised in the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Bridgeton, where he sang in the Young Mens Choir with his father and brother. He attended and graduated from Bridgeton High School, where he was very active in Track and Basketball. He was formerly employed in his later years, with Aberfoyle Mfg. Co. and also with Wheaton Glass for many years until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed reading his Bible, the fall seasons and winter snow, but he really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Besides his wife Matilda, he is survived by one son James E. Green Jr. and his wife Karra, of Millville, his two grandsons James E. Green III, Isaac Nelson Green, and his brother Wharton Green of Bridgeton. Besides his mother and father he was predeceased by one brother Shelton Green.
