Irene Sylvia Hoover's Obituary
Irene Sylvia (Thompson) Hoover 82 of Fairfield Twp. went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Friday morning May 19, 2023. Irene was born on February 24, 1941 to the late Jeremiah and Martha (Pierce) Thompson.
She attended Gouldtown School in Fairfield Twp.; married the Love of her life, the late Gary Hoover in July of 1963. They were married for 25 years.
Irene worked a Mark Manufacturing. She loved children and while raising her own family, she was a blessing to others by taking care of family members and neighborhood children. She enjoyed teaching them about Jesus, how to play jacks, jump rope, and softball. She was very active and enjoyed spending time with children. She was a devoted wife and mother. Irene truly loved the Lord.
She leaves to mourn her son Walt L Hoover of Bridgeton, a sister and brother in law Mary and Richard Rice, a brother Charles Thompson and many neices, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by her daughter Lynette Hoover, sisters Rosella Thompson, Flora Fisher, Alice Thompson, Linda Loatman, and a brother Jeremiah Thompson Jr.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday May 27, 2023 at 11:00am from the Implanted Word of God Ministries Church 85 Spruce Street Bridgeton, NJ. A viewing will be held from 10:00am till 11:00am prior to the services. The interment will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp.
