Howard R. McHenry, Sr.'s Obituary
Howard R. McHenry, Sr., 89 of Atco, NJ died Sunday August 6, 2006 after an extended illness in Virtua Health West Jersey Hospital , Berlin, NJ.
Born in Bridgeton the son of the late Jonathan S. and Mary nee Robinson McHenry, he was the husband of Hannah nee Beckett McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. McHenry were residents at The Fountains at Cedar Parke in Atco and previously had lived in the Bridgeton area.
Mr. McHenry was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army in the European Theater. He was employed with the Atlantic City Electric Company for 30 years where he worked in the Sub Station dept., until his retirement from the company in 1978. He was a member of the Pearl Street Baptist Church for 30 years where he formerly served as a Trustee, Treasurer, and was a member of the choir. He loved model trains and held a fascination for the locomotive industry.
Surviving Mr. McHenry besides his wife Hannah of 64 years are one son Howard R. McHenry, Jr. and his wife Connie of Cinnaminson, NJ, one sister Mary Garrison of Bridgeton, and one granddaughter Laura Marie Miller and her husband Derek of Lakehurst, NJ. He was predeceased by one brother Lester McHenry.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday August 10, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME , 62 Landis Ave. at Carll?s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twsp.. The interment will take place in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.
Friends may call on Thursday morning from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the services.
