Horace B. Messick Sr.'s Obituary
Horace B. Messick Sr. aged 76 years of Bridgeton, passed away suddenly on Tuesday evening in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. His death was unexpected.
Born in Bridgeton to the late Robert Dean and Violet McCann Dean, he had been an area resident all of his life.
Horace was formerly employed for 32 years with the County of Cumberland as a Maintenance Supervisor with the Sheriff’s Dept. in the Cumberland County Jail. Prior to, he worked for the former Bridgeton Dye and Finishing for 20 years. He enjoyed mowing his yard, golfing and working. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving him are his children: Sandy Messick of Bridgeton, Horace B. Messick Jr., of Fairton, and Michelle Messick of Vineland, two sisters: Doris Luzior and Shirley Kerbo, and one brother, Richard Dean, six grandchildren, three great grands, and a number of nieces, nephews and various relatives. He was predeceased by four sisters: Rebecca Pierce, Estellla Coombs, Mary Lou Sammons, Roberta Fernizon, and a brother, William Messick.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday June 29, 2017 at 12:00p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. Interment will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Twp. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00a.m. till 12:00p.m. prior to the services.
