Henry J. Lewis' Obituary
Henry J. Lewis was called home to be with the Lord on Friday September 23, 2011 at home. Henry was born September 16, 1938 in Fitz Henry, Pennsylvania to the late Gertrude Marsh Page and Henry Edwin Lewis.
Henry was educated in Cleveland, Ohio, and was baptized in the Antioch Baptist Church. He was the devoted husband of the late Elder Betty J. Lewis for 52 years. Henry moved his family to Salem, NJ in 1959 where he became a member of Mt.Zion Baptist Church. He was a trustee and a business partner in the past during his membership there. He retired from Anchor Glass Corp. after 40 years of employment as an Electrical Engineer. Henry also attended Salem Community College to enhance his knowledge in the Electrical Technology Field. In addition to working full time at Anchor Glass Corporation, Henry had owned and operated LTS, Lewis Trash Service for more than 25 years. He is survived by his children Joshelle Mahan James, Donna Johnson Edwin, Darryl Lewis Vera/Lorraine, Victoria Mahan John and Robin Harmon Eugene, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; four sisters Mary Robinson, Elizabeth Wheeler, Beatrice Lynch Talmadge, and Gertrude Kelso all residing in Cleveland, OH, two brothers Haywood Bush Rowenaof South Holland, Ill., Charles Lewis Anna Bell of Hopkinsville, KY. and a host of relatives, neighbors and lifelong friends. Henry was predeceased by his parents Gertrude Marsh Page and Henry Edwin Lewis, his wife Elder Betty J. Lewis, his two brothers Richard Lewis and William Greenlee, and two sisters Patricia Gordon, and Lillian Bell.
