Heinz Schmidt's Obituary
Heinz Schmidt, 66 of Upper Deerfield Twp, passed away late Thursday evening July 1, 2010 in Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House, where he had been a patient since Monday. Mr. Schmidt had been in failing health for the past six years and had been in Oceanview Nursing Center, in Cape May Court House.
Born in Poland he and his family had been in the Upper Deerfield area since 1956. and had previously lived in Germany. Heinz was the son of the late Leonhard and Martha Neumann Schmidt. Heinz was previously employed with Seabrook Bros. and Sons has a mechanic for 22 years until his health started to fail. He was raised in the Northville Lutheran Church and was a member of the Deerfield Elks and a former member of the Upper Deerfield Fire Company. Heinz was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1964 to 1967 during the Viet Nam War. Surviving him are his brothers and sisters; Max Schmidt of Upper Deerfield, Rudi Schmidt of Upper Deerfield Twp., Inge Schmidt of Upper Deerfield Twp., Guenter Schmidt of Pittsgrove Twp., and Renate Schmidt of Upper Deerfield, and many friends.
