Hazel Jacqueline Pettis Barber's Obituary
Hazel Jacqueline Pettis Barber aged 86 years of Dover, Delaware and formerly of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Monday morning May 21, 2018 at the home of her daughter Rebecca, under the care of hospice.
Born in Marietta Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Crawford and Maxie (nee Gober) Pettis, and the wife of the late Lonnie Barber who passed in 2003.
Hazel was formerly employed as a legal assistant and teller with Farmers and Merchants Bank of Bridgeton. She was a former member of the Elmer Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and was a dealer of antique and collectible jewelry. She loved going to auctions. She moved to the Dover area six years ago to live with her loving daughter Rebecca and husband Wesley.
She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Schroeder and husband Wesley of Dover, a brother Edwin R. Pettis of Raleigh, NC, and her loving granddaughter Amy Nicole Schroeder Whitmore also of Dover. She was predeceased besides her husband by two sons Gilbert Crawford Barber and Christopher Allen Barber.
Private graveside services for family will be held in Overlook Cemetery, where the interment will follow.
