Hazel Bailey's Obituary
Hazel Bailey, 100, of Hopewell Twsp died early Sunday morning April 15, 2007 in the Cumberland Manor where she had been a resident for the past several years.
Born August 31, 1906 the daughter of the late John E. and Luella nee Gould Coombs, she was the wife of the late Roy King Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey was born and lived in Fairfield Twsp. until her marriage, when she and her husband moved to the Hopewell Twsp. area where she had been a resident for the past 74 years.
She was formerly employed with the MC Schrank Company in Bridgeton for seventeen years as a Service Clerk, until her retirement. She was a former member of Trinity A.M.E. Church, Gouldtown, and she and her late husband were founding members of Bethany Christian Church in Bridgeton. Recently she became a member of the St. Teresa of Avila RC Church in Bridgeton.
Surviving her to cherish her memory are her sons Radcliffe Bailey and his wife Brenda of Atlanta, Ga., John Bailey and his wife Evelyn of Bridgeton, two daughters, Sandra Johnson and her husband Deacon William Johnson Sr. of Bridgeton, and Owney Bailey of Mays Landing, NJ, her son in law Earl Randolph and his wife Christine of Bridgeton, her ex son in law Alfred Lockette, thirteen grandchildren Radcliffe Bailey and his wife Lorin, Roy Bailey and his wife Rene, John Bailey and his wife Marie, Martin Bailey, Gary Bailey and his wife Norma, William Johnson Jr., Larry Johnson, Terence Johnson and his wife Danna, Eric Lockett and his wife Ayshai, Kevin Randolph, Serena Randolph-Wynder and her husband Gary, Darrell Randolph and his wife Michelle, and Richard Ford, thirteen great grandchildren Olivia , Radcliffe, Bria, Joi, Brittney, and John Bailey, Dane, Jaden, and Cree Johnson, Asha and Serena Lockette , and Rome and Sierra Wynder.
She was predeceased besides her husband Roy, by her daughter Joyce Randolph, a granddaughter, Deandrea Ford, three sisters Lillian Ashton, Mary Gould, and Marie Pierce, and one brother John E. Coombs Jr.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday April 21, 2007 from St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, 46 Central Ave. Bridgeton at 11:00 a.m.. The interment will take place in Gouldtown Cemetery, Fairfield Twsp.
Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
