Harry Matish's Obituary
Harry Matish Jr. 60, of Bridgeton passed away Monday morning February 22, 2010 in South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland, where he had been a patient for the past week.
Born in Bridgeton he was the son of the late Harry Sr. and Irene Hider Matish, and the husband of Beatrice Ervingham Matish. Harry was a resident of Cumberland Manor for the past four years and had previously lived in both Bridgeton and Fairton. Harry had worked as a custodian in Fairton School for several years and was also formerly employed with Veale's Yellow Cab, the Bridgeton Evening News, and the former Bridgeton Hospital in Housekeeping, a job he held for twenty years, until his health started to fail him. He was a former member of the Fairton Volunteer Fire Co. #1 and the Bridgeton Rescue Squad. He was also a former member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeton. He loved fishing, bowling, and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. He is survived besides his wife Beatrice, by five daughters Amy Beth Matish of Fairfield Twp., Kimberly Matish of Bridgeton, Crystal Lynn Matish of Laurel Lake, Sue Eyerman of Laurel Lake, Tammy Penn of Buena, one son Brian Evans of Kodak, Tennessee, one brother John Matish of Fairfield Twp., his sister Irene Matish of Philadelphia, three grandsons and seven granddaughters. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son Harry Andrew Matish, and his brother John Michael Matish.
