Hannah Marie Peacock's Obituary
Hannah Marie McDermott Peacock, 90 of Bridgeton, went home to be with her Lord , on Saturday afternoon May 22, 2010 in South Jersey Healthcare, Elmer, after being taken ill at her home, early Saturday morning.
Born in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late William and Mae nee Williams McDermott, and the wife of the late Robert David Peacock. Mrs. Peacock had been a resident of Bridgeton for the past 70 years, moving from Greenwich. Hannah had many jobs in her younger years and was formerly employed with Wilson's Dress Shop and Rovner's in Bridgeton. She also worked with her husband as an accountant and bookkeeper for his business, Robert's Retail and Wholesale Produce. In her later years she worked as a teller for both Citizens , and Farmers and Merchants Banks. Hannah also volunteered at South Jersey Healthcare Bridgeton for several years, and was a former member of Greenwich Baptist Church. Hannah was an avid Phillies fan, and loved doing crossword puzzles and word searches, but her true love was spending time with her loving family especially her grand and great grandchildren. Surviving her to cherish her memory are her three children, Gary L. Peacock of Bridgeton, Robert D. Peacock and his wife Vivian of Florida, and Lona Mae McGee of Florida, her sister Clara Sutton of Colorado, two grandchildren Robert D. Peacock and his wife Amber of Meshoppen, PA and Shawn McGee and his wife Michele of Florida, her three great grandchildren Travis Peacock, Demaris Hannah Peacock, and Zeirha Grace Peacock. Hannah was looking forward to the birth of her fourth great grandchild due in July. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by one brother William McDermott, and three sisters Betty Fisher, Margaret McDermott, and Ruth Porter.
