Hannah Beckett-McHenry's Obituary
Hannah Beckett McHenry, 93 of Atco, NJ formerly of Bridgeton died early Tuesday morning September 19, 2006 at the Fountains at Cedar Parke, where she was a resident.
Born in Norma, NJ the daughter of the late Henry D. and Susan nee Landis Beckett, she was the wife of the late Howard R. McHenry Sr. who passed away August 6, 2006. Hannah grew up in the Norma area and was a graduate of Vineland High School class of 1931. She met and married Howard R. McHenry September 20, 1941 in the First Presbyterian Church of Vineland. Mr. and Mrs. McHenry would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. She was formerly employed with M.C. Schrank and the Martin Dye Co. in Bridgeton. She was a 55 year member of the Pearl St. Baptist Church in Bridgeton , serving as a choir member, and former Sunday School Teacher. She also was a member of the Ora E. Mulford Missions Circle, and the Trexler Sunday School Class.
Survivors include one son Howard R. McHenry, Jr. and his wife Connie of Cinnaminson, one sister Reba Lummis of Atco, NJ, one grandaugter Laura Marie Miller and her husband Derek of Lakehurst, NJ, and one niece Virginia Downs Loder of West Virginia. She was predeceased besides her husband and parents by one brother Avery Beckett, three sisters Mary Downs, Ellen Reustle, and Grace Beckett, and three brother in laws Hurley Downs, Paul Reustle, and Warren C. Lummis.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday September 22, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME , 62 Landis Ave. at Carll?s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twsp, with the Rev. James Sheldon, pastor of Pearl St. Baptist Church officiating. The interment will be in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.
Friends may call on Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Mrs. McHenry?s memory be made to Pearl St. Baptist Church, 139 North Pearl St. Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
