Grace E Boardley's Obituary
Grace E Boardley, aged 77 of Fairfield Twp., passed away Sunday, December 22, in Inspira Medical Center Vineland. Born on September 21, 1947 in Bridgeton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel B. Boardley and Sara B. Hughes Boardley Saunders, and an area resident all of her life.
Grace worked for many years as a seamstress for Major Clothing until their closing and ultimately retiring from the Vineland Developmental State School. She was a very active member of Bethany Christian Church with multiple roles such as usher, choir, missionary, and a member of the fundraising team. She loved her church family at both Bethany and later the Implanted Word of God Ministries Church. Grace loved to travel and shop (usually with her best friend Marcella Rae Harmon) particularly attending church trips to Lancaster, getting the opportunity to visit the Shady Maple Smorgasbord or Cracker Barrel. But what she valued most, was spending time with her family, whether it be a holiday, special occasion, or just another regular day. She stepped up as the matriarch and glue of the family after her mother’s passing and always remained very active in her nieces and nephews lives.
Grace is survived by her brother Daniel L. Saunders (Georgina) of Upper Deerfield, a sister Michelle R Eddings (William) of Mays Landing, and one sister in law Cynthia Boardley of Fairfield Twp amongst a host of additional step brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, great and great- great nieces and nephews, whom all held a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her late parents in addition to two brothers Carl A. Boardley and Nathan Sherman Boardley.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday January 3, 2025 at 12:00p.m. at the Implanted Word of God Ministries Church located on 85 Spruce Street, Bridgeton, NJ. A visitation will be held from 11:00AM till service time and interment will be following in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp.
