Fannie Mae Doss' Obituary
Fannie Mae ?Mama? Doss 82, of Fairfield Twsp. died late Thursday evening October 12, 2006 in the South Jersey Extended Care Nursing Home Bridgeton, after a brief illness.
Born in Fairfax County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Steven and Lula Mae nee Johnson Brooker and the wife of the late Leroy Doss. She had been a resident of the Fairfield Twsp. area for the past fifty years.
Mrs. Doss was formerly employed with the Vineland State School for twenty three years until her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed gardening, singing, and especially cooking for her family and friends, she was always known as ? Mama Doss? to everyone, and if you visited with her you would never leave hungry.
Surviving to cherish her memory are five sons Robert Lee Doss and his wife Rita of Willingboro, Vaughn Doss and his wife Olive of Bridgeton, Thomas Doss and Timothy Doss , both of Bridgeton, and Kenneth Doss and his wife Loretta of Williamstown, four daughters Ruby Hagg and Dot Hall both of New Brunswick, Barbara M. Peques and her husband Lester of Largo, Maryland, and Ruth Mack and her husband Pastor John Mack of Cedarville, one brother Howard Hilton and his wife Ada Mae of New Brunswick, one cousin Carolyn Spencer of Sebring Florida, twenty one grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Joyce Doss, one sister Flossie Cardwell, and two son in laws Walli Hagg, and Charles Hall.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 20, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. from the Maranatha Baptist Church, 1524 Bridgeton Millville Pike, Millville. The Rev. Ernest Moore will officiate. The interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Twsp.
Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. at the church prior to the services.
