Ellis N Pierce's Obituary
Ellis departed his life on March 4, 2024, at home after being in failing health for a short period of time. Ellis was 81 years young. He was born in Bridgeton NJ on May 21, 1942, to the late Ralston Pierce and Ann Margret (Miller) Pierce. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Thornton) Pierce who passed away in 2022. Ellis grew up in the Bridgeton area, later moved away for a period of time and then finally came back home and settled in Gouldtown.
Ellis was a steel worker at George Harms Construction for over 30 years until retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter with his brothers in his younger days. He kept his yard meticulously manicured with plants, trees and flowers. Ellis was a master mechanic who loved to repair and build cars as well as remodeling and building houses. He was a collector of unique cars. He loved to have annual picnics and parties. Most importantly, he loved to be surrounded by family.
Ellis was survived by his daughter Carrie (Larry) and his son Travis. Two stepsons, Patrick and JR. Eight siblings Richard (Margret), Pearl (Sonny), Betty, Donnie (Melissa), Delilah, Jane, Janet (Johnathan) and Ricky. A special companion Pat (Caesar) Pierce and a good friend Carolyn Pierce. Also, a special pet Bear.
He was a loving and devoted grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather; grandchildren, Kiana (Tim), Ellis 2nd, and Tyson, twenty-six great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and various nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.
He was predeceased by his stepfather Morris C. Pierce Sr., Brothers, Morris C. Pierce Jr., Benny Pierce, and Herbie Pierce, Sisters, Gerldine Durham, Victoria Harmon, Leona Pierce, Mary Pierce, Viola Pierce, Arlene Pierce, and Sara Pierce. Grandson Jamear Pierce and two special pets Ginger and Mr. Buster.
