Elaine Pierce's Obituary
Elaine Pierce, known to everyone as “Lanie" was born July 12, 1952 to the late James Harold Pierce and Dorothy May (nee Miller) Pierce.
On Thursday morning, September 12, 2013, God in his infinite wisdom dispatched an angel to retrieve his child Elaine, and took her home.
Elaine joined Union Baptist Temple Church at an early age. She gave her life to Christ and truly knew the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was a lifetime resident of Bridgeton, and attended the Bridgeton School system. She knew everyone in the community, and always greeted everyone with a “Hey Boy”. Elaine always had a smile on her face, a kind heart, and to her no one was ever a stranger.
She leaves to cherish in her loving memory, one son, Carton Phillips Pierce of Ohio; four beautiful granddaughters, Chenil Barbara Pierce, Karla Elliot, LaNiece Britney Pierce, Ashley (Marcus) Grace, all of Ohio; two great grandsons, Keon Elliot and Marcas Grace; six sisters, Jeanette Pierce, Nellie Pierce and husband Oscar, Sadie Pierce all of Bridgeton, Dorothy Scott of Pennsauken, Joy Carter of Vineland, Carol Ann and husband Reick Fountain of Chester, PA; four brothers, James Pierce and wife Patricia, Herbert Pierce and wife Maybelle of Bridgeton, William Pierce and wife Betty Jane of Millville, and Leroy Pierce and wife Dale of Pittsgrove, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Elaine was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Taylor and Mable Scott; and one brother Nathaniel Pierce
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, September 20, 2013, 11:00 AM at the Sray-Webster Funeral Home, 62 Landis Ave., Bridgeton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Elaine be made to Inspira Healthcare in c/o of The Dialysis Unit at 333 Irving Ave. Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
