Edith P. Ridgway's Obituary
Edith P. Ridgway, aged 86 years of Fairfield Twp., passed away suddenly on Thursday December 11, 2014 in Vitas Hospice, Philadelphia. Her death was very sudden and unexpected after being taken seriously ill in the past week.
Born in Fairfield Twp., she was the daughter of the late Orwig Max and Eliza (nee Dean) Pierce, and the wife of the late Francis “Fin” Ridgway who passed away in 2013. “Edie” was born and raised in Fairfield Township and an area resident all of her life. She was formerly employed until her retirement with Val Mode Lingerie in Bridgeton as a Floor Manager. She was a former member of St. John United Methodist Church, Fordville , and was a member of the Red Hat Society. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling and visiting her daughter in Florida. Edith is survived by her granddaughter, Tara Killiebrew of Carneys Point, her son in law, Edward Foster of Florida, her two great grandchildren, Avery and Allen Killiebrew, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Edith Mae Foster in 2009, her sister, Sarah Durham, and two brothers, William Pierce and Orwig Max Pierce. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 12:00p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp.
A viewing will be held from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.
