Dorothy A. Goldsboro's Obituary
Dorothy Anna Goldsboro, 71 of Pittsgrove Twsp. went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evenening May 29, 2007 in South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland. She had been a patient there for the past month and had been in failing health for the last five months.
Born the oldest daughter of eight children to the late Leslie and Olive Mae nee Brown Pierce, she was the wife of William E. Goldsboro. She was born in Quinton, NJ on January 12, 1936 and attended Quinton Elementary School. She and her husband William were united in marriage on December 6, 1959.
Dorothy worked for the Vineland Developmental Center for 22years and retired in 1996. She then was employed with the Cumberland County Homemakers for two years. She attended and was a member of Wesley Memorial A.M.E. Church in Rosenhayn, NJ since 1991. She served on the Missionary, Deaconess and Womens Fellowship boards. She loved to sew, cook for her family, bird watch and listen to WSNJ Radio. She was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton.
Surviving her besides her husband of 48 years are nine children , Vincent Bright Sr. and his wife Darlene of Bridgeton, Peggy Robinson and her husband Virgil of Carney?s Point, Annette Toni Young and her husband Daniel of Millville, Valerie Goldsboro and her fiancé Greg of Pittsgrove, Jonathan Goldsboro of Pittsgrove, Joy Atkins and her husband Bob of Cherry Hill, Jeffrey Goldsboro and his fiancé Millie of Seabrook, Michael Goldsboro and his wife Anna of Vineland and Rochele Manno and her husband David of Upper Deerfield. Six brothers Louis, Leslie, David, Frank, Charlie and Major Pierce and one sister Emma Price, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by one son Donald Bright.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday June 4, 2007 from Wesley Memorial A.M.E. Church, 582 Morton Ave. Rosenhayn, NJ at 12:00 p.m. The Rev. Issac DeShields will officiate. The interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
A viewing will be held on Monday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. at the church, prior to the services
