Dorothea Dannenhoffer's Obituary
Dorothea Dannenhoffer, 83, of Vineland passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday November 29, 2024 after a hard fought battle with declining health. She was born June 22, 1941 to the late John and Dorothy Dannenhoffer. Dorothea was born, raised, and would go on to become a lifelong resident of Vineland, NJ.
Dorothea worked as a Head Clerk at the local ACME for 46 years, retiring in 2003. But her work did not stop there, she was a proud member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was very involved in both her church and local community. She found great pride and joy in servicing her neighbors and peers in need. Dorothea also devoted her time to volunteering for the Special Olympics organization throughout the 1980s and 90s, particularly the bowling events, which she greatly enjoyed. She loved trips to the beach but held a special affinity for Fortescue, where she enjoyed collecting sea glass. Family was an important part of her life and they got to see her joyful, funny, and ornery side best. She had an innate ability to know what to say to ease the tension in any room. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister and brother in law Kathleen and George Asselta, niece Jennifer Asselta-Woods (Tim), great nieces Gia Trischitta and Kennedy Woods, and her special cousin Linda Gagliardi amongst several other cousins. She was also the beloved aunt of Jason Morey.
Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial services Saturday, December 14 11:00 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church located on 14 Fayette Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
