Deborah K. Durham's Obituary
Deborah K. Durham, 64 years old of Bridgeton, passed away suddenly and unexpected early Sunday morning, September 16, 2018 in Cooper University Medical Center, Camden after a two year courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hazel (nee Riley) Sooy, and the wife of Allen M. Durham.
Debbie was formerly employed as an EMT with the Bridgeton Rescue Squad for many years and also with the Bridgeton Board of Education as a crossing guard for 26 years until her retirement. She loved arts and crafts, sewing, social media sharing on Facebook, and decorating her home. She loved and adored her grandchildren, and especially cooking for them and along with husband Allen, attending their sports events. She also loved spending time with her brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 24 years, Allen M. Durham, step daughter, Tara Killebrew, her godchild, Nicole Giacalone, grandchildren, Allen Killebrew, Avery Killebrew, and Alexi Hernandez, brother, Larry Sooy and his wife Donna, sisters, Delores Garrett and husband Charles, and Patty Giacalone and husband Louis. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Joan Garrett and Jean Welch, and a brother, Albert C. Sooy.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday September 21, 2018 at 12:00p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. till 12:00p.m. prior to the services. The burial will take place in the family plot in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.
