David Brown Jr's Obituary
David Brown Jr. of Deptford, NJ went home to be with the Lord on December 25, 2025 with his siblings by his bedside.
He was born on April 16, 1958 to Gladys C. (Pierce) Brown and David Brown Sr. in Atlantic City, NJ. David remained a resident of South Jersey his entire life.
David graduated from Glassboro State College, currently know as Rowan University. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. He also attended and graduated from Salem Community College. He enjoyed life-long learning, and keeping up with the news and current events. In addition, to Theatre Arts, he studied heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration and electrician. He was always trying to fix something.
David worked for many years at PSE&G Nuclear Power Plant as a maintenance mechanic in Lower Alloways Creek Twp., NJ. In previous years, he enjoyed devoting his time and service to The Lower Alloways Creek Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Squad as well as the Ambulance Squad while in college.
David was a die hard fan of the 6X Super Bowl winning Pittsburgh Steelers and an avid fan of Sci-Fi, movies and t.v. w/ Star Trek and The Marvel movies being his favs.
Most of all, David loved helping family members, friends and those in need. He cared for and supported his late Aunt Velma E. Pearce during her illness for many years. David was a very kind, loving, proud, generous, and strong man. He believed in God’s faithfulness, mercy and goodness. He was a very devoted, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was admired, respected and deeply loved. He will sadly be missed by all.
David is predeceased by both his parents, Gladys C. (Pierce) Brown and David Brown Sr. and beloved aunt Velma E. Pearce, Mearldean Pierce and extended family Evangelist Betty J. Watford as well as numerous Aunts and Uncles and Cousins.
David is survived by siblings Thelma Brown, Sherill Brown, and Bonnie Brown Deptford NJ. Kenneth Brown (fiancé Ruth) Burlingham, NY. He is also survived by his Uncle, Robert L. Brown CWO3, Kinston, N.C., nephew, David K. Brown Poughkeepsie NY, and niece Tammy L. (Brown) Watkins Fayetteville, NC., Loving cousins Jean Brantley, Tammie (Pierce) Brown Bridgeton NJ, and Charles Pierce, Sicklerville NJ. Friends Avery, Emily & Julia, Millville, NJ. and a host of other loving cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services for David on Saturday, January 3, 2025 at the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME located at 62 Landis Ave Bridgeton, NJ 08302. A visitation will be held from 9:30-11AM with funeral services following. Interment will take place at the family plot at the Gouldtown Memorial Park located in Fairfield Township.
