Daisy Berry's Obituary
Daisy Davis Berry, 95, of Bridgeton, New Jersey passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, April 27, 2014 at Genesis Nursing Center. She had been in failing health.
Daisy was born in Salem, New Jersey on October 16, 1918 and was the daughter of the late John and Estelle Davis and the wife of the late Reverend Adolphus A. Berry.
She was affectionately called "Mom Berry" as she shared in her husband's ministry of the Delaware, Southern and Northern New Jersey United Methodist Conferences. She served as First Lady under his pastorship in Delaware at St. George and Kirkwood; and in New Jersey at Mount Holly, Haddonfield, Berlin, Davistown, Cape May, Swainton, Atlantic City, Jersey City, Port Norris, Haven and Fordville. She was a lifetime member of Haven United Methodist Church formerly known as Berry's Chapel. Her kind, gentle and humble spirit will be missed by all.
Surviving Daisy are her sons: Arbor (Mary); Carl Carson (Fay); Eric (Eloise); and daughter, Brenda Long; sister: Irene Harris Shorter; grandchildren: Adolphus Berry, Carson (Amy) Berry, Rene (Darryl) Richardson, Andreẻ (Christopher) Neal; Erin Berry; great grandchildren: Nicole Berry, Darryl Richardson, Jr., Bianca Richardson; Khalil Robinson, Montana Berry, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers: Elwood Davis of Philadelphia, Pa., Melvin Nichols of Bridgeton, NJ; sisters: Lucille of Los Angeles, California, Cleo Lockhart and Lavinia Lewis of Salem, and daughter-in-law, Helga Berry of Florida.
Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Friday, May 2, 2014 11:00 AM from the Haven United Methodist Church, Rte. 49, Quinton, New Jersey. The viewing will be held from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Bridgeton.
