Cristian Castro- Merida's Obituary
Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestro querido Cristian Castro Mérida, de 26 años, quien falleció el 12 de julio del 2025 en Bridgeton, NJ.
Cristian llego al mundo un 18 de agosto del 1998 para llenar de felicidad el corazón de su madre. Como hijo mayor, fue el primero en enseñarle a su madre, Alicia Mérida Cruz, en como una mujer se transforma en madre y como el amor por un hijo se convierte en el sentimiento más bello, más grande, y profundo – en un amor que dura por siempre.
De pequeño, Cristian fue muy tranquilo y era una dulzura para cuidar. Cristian desde niño, cuidaba mucho de su imagen y le gustaba estar limpiecito y bien vestido. De adolescente descubrió su interés en la música. Le encantaban los bailes y sus favoritos eran los trios y la música de banda. Se entretenía dibujando y ser artístico era uno de sus dones. Sus dibujos los conservaremos con mucho cariño. A Cristian en especial le encantaban las cosas de vaquero. En cualquier fiesta podían ver a Cristian muy guapo con sus botas y su sombrero. A los 18 anos de edad, Cristian se mudó de México para los Estados Unidos para luchar por un mejor futuro y poder reunirse con su madre, quien ya vivía en New Jersey.
Su perdida será sentida por muchos, ya que Cristian fue muy querido por cantidades de personas. A Cristian lo sobreviven: su madre, Alicia Mérida Cruz; su padrastro, Andrés González Hernández; sus hermanos: Santiago Mérida, Brenda Mérida, y Sherlyn González; sus tíos más cercanos: Florinda Mérida, Alfredo Mérida, Agustín Mérida, Evelia Susano, Mariela Susano, y Martina Susano; sus primos más cercanos: Mayberto Susano (y la esposa de Mayberto, Aracely Sandoval, y su hija Hannah Susano), Joselyn Mérida, Felipe Flores, Jorge Flores, y Luz Flores; sus abuelos: Hermila Susano y Nicolas Mérida; su madrina, Reyna Ortiz; y muchos mas familiares y amistades de varios lugares desde Veracruz, la ciudad de México, y New Jersey, incluyendo una lista extensa de más tíos y primos. A Cristian le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos Ciro Castro y Loreta De La Cruz Monroy.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Cristian Castro Merida who died on July 12, 2025 at the age of 26 in Bridgeton, NJ.
Cristian came to this world on August 18, 1998 to fill his mother’s heart with joy. As the firstborn, Cristian was the one who taught his mother, Alicia, the meaning of true love and how a mother’s love becomes the deepest, strongest, and most beautiful feeling a woman can feel – a love that lasts forever.
As a child, Cristian was very well behaved, and he was a joy to care for. From a young age, Cristian cared about his self-image; he liked being well-groomed and well-dressed. During his teenage, he discovered his interest in music. His passion for dancing was undeniable. He especially enjoyed banda and trios. Cristian was very artistic and took pleasure in drawing. Cristian also loved anything cowboy-themed. To any party he attended, he would show up in his hat and cowboy boots. At 18 years old, Cristian moved from Mexico the US in pursuit of better opportunities, but especially to reunite with his mother who had previously moved to New Jersey.
His absence will leave a great void as Cristian was deeply loved by many. He will be remembered by everyone for his bright smile and great sense of humor. Cristian would laugh at anything.
Cristian is survived by his mother, Alicia Merida Cruz; his stepfather, Andres Gonzalez Hernandez; his siblings: Santiago Merida, Brenda Merida, and Sherlyn Gonzalez; his closest aunts and uncles: Florinda Merida, Alfredo Merida, Agustin Merida, Evelia Susano, Mariela Susano, and Martina Susano; his closest cousins: Mayberto Susano (and Mayberto’s wife, Aracely Sandoval, and their child Hannah Susano), Joselyn Merida, Felipe Flores, Jorge Flores, and Luz Flores; his grandparents: Hermila Susano and Nicolas Merida; his godmother, Reyna Ortiz; and a plethora of family and friends from Veracruz, Mexico City, and New Jersey. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Ciro Castro and Loreta De La Cruz Monroy.
