Constance "Connie" J. Ramseur's Obituary
Constance “Connie” J. Ramseur, born December 5, 1923 to the late Edward and Hattie Jones of Tallahassee, Florida went to be with our Lord and join up with her parents, her late brother Fred and her grandson, Derek Ramseur on May 17, 2013.
Born to teach, she taught from grades kindergarten through high school. Teaching not only in the classroom, but with how she lived. Several of her former students continued to visit her until her last days.
Connie was the mother of H. Douglas and Charles E. Ramseur, and what a mother she was, loving, caring, and always standing strong for them. Later, she became a grandmother to Derek, Kenneth and Marcus Ramseur, and great grandmother to Sophia Ramseur. They said she was the best grandmother ever.
Connie was a graduate of Hampton University, with a Masters degree from Drexel University. She loved to cook, sew, do needlework, and just helping others. She was always there for her brother Edward (Jay), Fred, Robert and William, and her only sister Bernice. She was also devoted to her many nieces and nephews, cousins and her many friends. She was a very active member and office manager of St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church of Tallahassee, Florida.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Saturday May 25, 2013 at Historic Greenwood Cemetery, Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, Florida. She will be laid to rest next to her mother and father.
