Clifford C. Pierce Jr.'s Obituary
Clifford C. "Butch" Pierce Jr., 68 of Fairfield Twp., passed away on Sunday evening at his home under Hospice Care. He had been in failing health for the past six months.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Clifford C. Pierce Sr. and Thelma Marie (nee Sammons) Pierce, and the husband of Rozena (nee Spagnola) Pierce.
Butch was employed for forty years with South State Incorporated as a heavy equipment operator. He was a proud Viet Nam Veteran serving in the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion Shoemaker Post 95 and the Meade Woodward VFW.
He loved fishing, especially his trips to Mexico. Butch also loved gardening and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He especially loved spending time with his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Rozena “Roz” Pierce; his two sons, Michael Pierce and Tamara Escobar of Fairton, and John W. Pierce and Terri of Westminster, MD.; his brother and sister, John W. Pierce of Fairfield Twp. and Janet Street of Bridgeton; his five grandchildren, Jennifer Vega and Jose, Michael Pierce Jr., Jonathan, Hannah, and Nicholas Pierce,; his mother in law, Emma Spagnola; and many cousins friends and various relatives. He was predeceased besides his parents by his brother, William M. Pierce.
Funeral services will be held on Friday November 22, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. The interment will be in Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell Twp. Friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. prior to the services.
