Clarence Alvin Custis, 75, of Gouldtown, passed away on Monday June 3, 2013 under the care of South Jersey Healthcare Hospice Care at the Bridgeton Inpatient Center. His family was by his side, as he had been in failing health for Read Obituary
I had the opportunity and privilege of meeting and working with Deputy Chief Custis at the Atlantic City Airport Fire Dept.
He was an excellent leader, exceptional firefighter, someone I respected, and honored to call a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Clarence was one of our employees. We trusted him. He was very serious about his job and often would call us after work to remind us of important issues. Clarence was diligent to maintain his equipment and respectful to our customers. He enjoyed a good conversation and was eager to share his stories. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him. Clarence (Pop) was always a character to be around, he always had related story and a joke. He obviously loved his family and friends. My deepest sympathy to the Custis whom I love.
Clarence was a great friend with a genuine interest in making our government and institutions work better. He was fearless when it became necessary to expose corruption and errors in our system. We will miss him! He was my friend
