Clara Newman's Obituary
Clara Newman 80 of Bridgeton and formerly of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Sunday morning April 14, 2013 in South Jersey Extended Care, Bridgeton, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Charleston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (nee Jackson) Oliver, and the wife of the late Dallas Paul Newman Sr.
Clara had been employed for 30 years with several area glass manufacturing plants until her retirement with Kerr Glass in Millville. She had been an area resident for the past 51 years and had previously lived in Ohio. She enjoyed cooking, and housekeeping, but she especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her four children, Brenda Taucher and her husband John of West Virginia, Drema DeMasse and her husband Larry Jr. of Upper Deerfield Twp., Mary Gentile and her husband Fred of Fairton, and Dallas Newman Jr. and his wife Linda of Florida; her two sisters, Stella Vandell of Kansas and Etta Corna of Ohio; her seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother, John; and three sisters, Margaret, Mary and Vida.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends may call from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. prior to the services. The interment will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.
