Chester Pierce Jr.'s Obituary
Chester Pierce Jr., 85, of Fairfield Twp., also known as “Junior” passed away Wednesday afternoon in Genesis The Millville Center. He had been in failing health for the past four years. Born November 4, 1936, he was the son of the late Tacky and Gertrude Pierce and had been an area resident for all of his life.
Chester lived on his family’s farm where he was raised by his parents. His love of animals was shown with the care he provided to his chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, peacocks, and even the deer he fed with corn he grew in his fields. He also worked for several years for the Sloan family in Fernwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Hopewell. Chester was always a happy-go-lucky gentleman who enjoyed life and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his care givers, Jewel Walker and Eugene Morrison of Philadelphia and Dennis Cuff of Fairfield Twp., and a few cousins. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday October 7, 2022 at 10:00am in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00pm at the funeral home.
