Charlotte DiMatteo's Obituary
Charlotte DiMatteo, 83, of Hopewell Twpl., passed away suddenly on Monday January 1, 2024 in Cooper University Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Vineland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Verna (Sharp) Battersby and the wife of the late Frank DiMatteo Sr.
Charlotte had been an area resident all of her life. She was employed for several years as a LPN working in the Mental Health Unit at the former Bridgeton Hospital and now Inspira Medical Center. She loved reading books and listening to books on tape. She enjoyed her independence and being able to do for
herself, although she also loved spending time and dining out with friends and family.
She is survived by her son Frank Jr. and his wife Cathy DiMatteo of Milltown, NJ, her sister Jane Mihalecz of Pittsgrove Twp., her close and dear friend Andrea Hastings and Andrea's children Taylor and Austin Hastings who were like grandchildren to Charlotte. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother Charles Battersby and her sister Anne Hunt.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday at 11:00 am from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll's Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am till the service time at the funeral home. Interment of the cremains will take place privately in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Charlotte to the Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity, 601 South Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360
