Charleston E. Pierce's Obituary
Charleston E. Pierce 88, of Laurel Lake, passed away Friday afternoon in Cooper University Medical Center, Camden. He had been in failing health since October.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Carl and Hazel (nee Cuff) Pierce, and the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Pierce.
Mr.Pierce was a boiler operator and steel manufacturing worker, and was retired from Thyssen Krupp Budd Compnay in Philadelphia. He had also formerly worked for many years for PJ Ritter and Progresso Foods. Mr. Pierce was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. He enjoyed cooking and helping his wife before her passing with the reupholstering of canvas on boats.
He is survived by his daughter Clara Pierce and her husband Terry of Bridgeton, one sister Marcella Pierce of Bridgeton, four grandchildren Joseph Pierce Sr. and wife Linda, LaTanya Mack and Illya, Terry Pierce Jr., and Nakia Pierce and Linda, ten great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one brother Carl Pierce Jr..
Family and friends may call on Friday evening November 30, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. Funeral services and interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
