Charles F. "Bozo" Garrett's Obituary
Charles F. Garrett, 79, passed away March 10, 2020 after a brief stay in Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, Texas. Charles was the son of the late Robert and Myrtle Garrett, and was born in Fairmont, West Virginia. At an early age his family relocated to the Bridgeton area.
Charles was known to many as “Bozo” and was married to Dolores (Sooy) Garrett on September 8, 1970. They made their home in the Fairton /Bridgeton area. He had worked for Owens Illinois until the closing of the Bridgeton plant, and he and Delores relocated to Waco where he retired after 40 years of service. Charles had many interests including golf, hunting, and fishing. You could find him on one of his boats fishing in the Delaware Bay. He and Delores loved traveling in their motorhome, including visits to California to see his son Robbie, and his family in New Jersey where they visited with family and friends. Charles loved all his nieces and nephews very much. He is survived by his wife Dolores (Sooy) Garrett, his son, Robbie and his wife Unho and granddaughter Karis who reside in Hawaii. He was predeceased besides his parents by his siblings, Robert Garrett, Gerry Garrett and Patty Drain. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday March 23, 2020 at 9:00am in Overlook Cemetery Bridgeton for immediate family only. Due to the current public health recommendations, we are asking those in attendance maintain "social distancing" and if you are not feeling well, we would ask that you please stay home.
