Carl A. "Lonnie" Boardley's Obituary
Carl A. “Lonnie” Boardley, aged 70 of Fairfield Twp., passed away suddenly on Monday morning January 27, 2020 in Inspira Medical Center Vineland. He had been in failing health for the past year due to a previous heart attack. Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Nathaniel B. Boardley and Sara B. Hughes Boardley Saunders, and the husband of Cynthia J. Boardley.
Lonnie was an area resident all of his life, and had been employed with Clement Pappas in Seabrook for ten years as a forklift operator. He was a previous member of Bethany Christian Church and a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton. His Native name was ‘Wise Eagle Standing Strong”. Lonnie had a great love for classic cars and enjoyed going to car shows. He was a passionate gardener, loved animals, and enjoyed watching his black and white western classics, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving him besides his wife Cynthia, are his two stepsons, Donald E. Blair of Atlantic City, NJ and David E. Blair of Seattle, WA, his two sisters, Grace E. Boardley of Fairfield Twp. and Michelle R. Eddings of Mays Landing, one brother, Daniel L. Saunders and his wife Georgina of Upper Deerfield Twp., several nieces, nephews, greats and great great nieces and nephews; all who held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased besides his mother and father, by his brother, Nathaniel S. Boardley Sr.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday January 31, 2020 at 12:00p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. A visitation will be held from 11:00 till service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp.
