Bruce Paul Grimming's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bruce Paul Grimming, age 76, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, on December 5, 2024 at the Veteran’s Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ. Born October 31, 1948 to Adam Paul and Virginia (Hunsinger) Grimming, he was preceded in death by his brother Gary of Paulsboro. Bruce is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary (Ranges); his affectionate children, Christine of St. Peters, Robert of Orlando, and Karen of Hopewell; and his caring grandchildren, Brandon, Olivia, and Zachary. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Joseph of St. Petersburg, treasured uncle Anthony Giordano, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who brought joy to his life.
A life long resident of Woodbury, NJ, Bruce was a proud alumnus of Woodbury High School, Class of 1967. Following his graduation, Bruce served his country honorably with the 1st Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment during an extended tour in Vietnam, a testament to his courage and commitment. On July 8, 1972, Bruce married the love of his life, Mary, and together they built a beautiful life and a welcoming home filled with love and laughter.
Bruce dedicated 24 years as a Facilities Manager at JP Morgan/Chase, retiring in April 2019. His commitment to his community was evident during his tenure on Woodbury’s City Council as well as with the Greenfield’s Swim Club Board of Directors where he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him.
An avid outdoorsman, Bruce found joy in fishing and hunting, whether on memorable trips to Costa Rica or fishing adventures out of Cape May with his dear friend Andy Shapiro. He was a master storyteller, captivating everyone with tales of the formidable fish he caught and the impressive deer he hunted.
Bruce's talents extended beyond the outdoors. He was a skilled craftsman, whose handiwork transformed his house into the dream home he and Mary envisioned. His legacy of love and knowledge lives on through the skills and stories he shared with his children and grandchildren, whether through fishing trips or home improvement projects.
Bruce will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and kindness will continue to inspire those he loved. As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we celebrate a life well-lived and the lasting impact Bruce made on his family and friends.
Visitation and services will be held from 10:30 to 12 on Wednesday December 11 at Sray Webster Funeral Home at 62 Landis Ave, Bridgeton NJ 08302. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Brain Support Network in Bruce’s name.
