Bruce E. Dawson, Sr.'s Obituary
Bruce Edward Dawson Sr., 64, of Bridgeton, NJ passed away on December 14, 2021 at Inspira Hospital in Vineland due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 8, 1957 at Elmer Hospital in Elmer, NJ to Laura Delores (Dee) (nee Wranich) and Albert Edward Dawson III. Bruce grew up in Bridgeton, NJ and for a time, lived with his family in Tampa, Florida and Phoenix, Arizona before returning to Bridgeton.
Bruce worked in construction for most of his life where he learned to do stucco and masonry work. He loved kids and loved to play and joke around with his grandkids, nieces and nephews. You could always catch him treating them to candy and ice cream. Bruce loved going to Pennsylvania for family reunions and reminiscing with cousins about the old days. He loved to watch old westerns and enjoyed fishing with the kids and teaching them how to do things. Bruce had a memory like an elephant and loved sharing his memories with everyone. He had a big heart and would help when he could. Bruce loved life and never minded taking the long way home.
Bruce is survived by his son Bruce Edward Dawson Jr. and wife Jennifer of Millville and son James Keith Dawson of Millville. Grandchildren, Darien, Danielle, James, Alex, Bryan and Brooklyn, and great-grandchildren, Mason, Bryleigh, and Ashton. He is also survived by two brothers, Richard W. Dawson and wife Celeste of Bridgeton, and Ted A. Uber and wife Lori Ann of Tampa, FL, three sisters, Vicki (nee Uber) Rugenus of Dividing Creek, Deanne (nee Uber) and husband Chris Laing of Stow Creek, and Diana Dawson of Westville, along with eleven nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Michael James Dawson of Bridgeton, father, Albert Edward III (Lucky) and stepmother, Nadine (nee Depka) Dawson of Westville, and stepfather Theodore S. Uber of Bridgeton.
At the family’s request, funeral services and interment will be private.
