Bertha Mae Wilson's Obituary
Bertha Mae Wilson, age 94 years of Bridgeton, went on to be with the Lord, Wednesday December 27, 2017 while at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland.
Born in Louisville, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Willy and Elizabeth (nee Morris) Anthony, and the wife of the late Johnnie Lee Wilson.
Bertha was a former member of the Union Baptist Temple Church for many years, serving on the choir and the prayer band ministries. In her later years, she become a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness Congregation of Bridgeton. She was formerly employed with Ritter's Canning House and the Crystal Laundry of Bridgeton. Before her health began to fail she retired as a experienced presser with New system Laundry of Vineland.
Bertha enjoyed cooking and meals with her family, her favorite was a good sweet potato pie; however, she most enjoyed being amongst and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Ella Mae Wiley of Bridgeton, a brother Cornelius Anthony, a sister Lilly Bell Roberson, four grandchildren: Deacon Mark Wiley (Pearl), Crystal Powell (Naeem), Rodney Wiley and John Wiley, ten great grandchildren, and one great - great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is predeceased by a daughter Mary Elizabeth Anthony, grandson Reginald Anthony, a twin sister Margaret Peterson, sisters: Gladys Anthony, Nancy Mae Jones, Fannie Mae Jones, brothers: James, Clarence, Leroy and Robert Lee Anthony.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday January 6, 2018 from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. at 11:00a.m. A visitation will be held from 10:00a.m. till 11:00a.m. prior to the services. The interment will take place in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Twp.
