Bertha Rivera's Obituary
Bertha Rivera, 85 of Hopewell Twsp. died early Saturday morning January 20, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Hospice, and had been in failing health for the past twelve years.
Born in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Leon Sr. and Myrtie Pierce Loatman , and the wife of Samuel ?Sammy? Rivera. She and her husband Sammy have been residents of the Hopewell area for the past fifty years, and they recently celebrated her 85th birthday on January 9.
Mrs. Rivera was formerly employed at the Cumberland Manor as a kitchen aid. She enjoyed cooking, and loved spending time with her many children, family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
Surviviving to cherish her memory, besides her husband Samuel of fifty four years are three sons Ernest Ronald Cuff and his wife Caroline of Hopewell Twsp., Carlos Antonio ?Tony? Rivera and his wife Myra Jane of Hopewell Twsp., and Michael Rivera of Fairfield Twsp., eight daughters Sheila Marie Timmons and her husband Terry of Harrington DE., Sharon Mosley of Milford DE., Gloria ?Jeanne? Rivera of Bridgeton, Maria Ridgway and her husband David Jr., of Fairfield Twsp., Vickie Lynn Rivera of Millville, Carla Jill Pierce and her husband Michael Clifford Pierce of Germany, Carmen Rae Moore and her husband Jeremiah Durham Moore of Fairfield Twsp., and Angela Joan Rivera Zera of Bridgeton, two sisters Elsie May Webster and her husband Edward of Upper Deerfield Twsp. and Florence Seeney and her husband Ronald of Salem, thirty eight grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Bertha was predeceased by two children, her son Larry Wayne Cuff, and her daughter Denise Rivera Loatman, one son in law, Larry Mosley, and two brothers Raymond Loatman and Leon Loatman Jr., and one sister Edith Williams.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday January 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 62 Landis Ave. at Carll?s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twsp. The Rev. Tony Cuellar, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Vineland will officiate. The interment will be in Fernwood Memorial Park, Hopewell Twsp.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00p.m. and Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. prior to the services.
