Bernetta S. Pierce's Obituary
Bernetta S. Pierce 83, of Fairfield Twsp. died suddenly Sunday November 26, 2006 at her home. Her death was unexpected.
Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Clement Lockman and the late Sadie E. nee Roberts Lockman Cuff, and the wife of the late Wayman A. Pierce Jr.. She was a longtime resident of the Fairfield Twsp. area.
Mrs. Pierce was formerly employed with the Fairfield Twsp. School system working for 20 years in the food service cafeteria area. She was a former member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church where she formerly served on both the Usher and Stewardess Boards. For the past 10 years she has attended the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church where she especially enjoyed making crafts for the holiday seasons for the Missionettes. She also was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton.
Surviving to cherish her memory are three sons Rudolph H. Pierce of Newark Delaware, Curtis N. Pierce and his wife Debra of Bridgeton, Vincent H. Pierce and his wife Audrey of Bridgeton, one daughter, Sheila Y. Pierce Nichols and her husband Harold of Bridgeton, one brother William R. Lockman Sr. of Hopewell Twsp. one step brother Rodney Cuff of Hopewell Twsp., eleven grand children Victor Nichols, Kyle Pierce, Sheila Pierce, Curtis Pierce Jr., Glenn Pierce Corey Nichols, Curtis Nichols, Kelly Pierce, Brian Pierce, Vincent Pierce Jr. and Willie Cisrow III, one grand daughter in law Sharon Nichols, and seven great grand children.
Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by one son Wayman Pierce III, and two brothers Belford and Russell Lockman.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday November 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll?s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twsp.. The interment will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twsp.
A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations in Mrs. Pierce?s name be made to the Missionettes C/O Bridgeton Assembly of God Church 424 Indian Ave. Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
