Benjamin Leroy Coker Jr.'s Obituary
Benjamin Leroy Coker Jr, 65, of Vineland, NJ passed away on Thursday February 8, 2024 in the Inspira Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 3, 1958 in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Benjamin L. Coker, Sr. and Patricia Ann Mosley-Hughes.
Ben was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of 1976. He was a Corrections Officer at the Cumberland County Correctional Facility until having to medically retire. Ben had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a founding member of the Inner Elite Motorcycle Club. He also was dedicated to martial arts where he was a black belt in Taekwondo, silver medalist in the Pan American games, as well as an accomplished kickboxer. Football was life in the Coker household as he was a lifelong loyal New York Giants fan and youth football coach. Known to many as “Coach Coker”, he coached within the Vineland Midget Football organization for over 20 years leading the Wolfpack to multiple Championships along with mentoring countless young men. Vineland Midget Football honored him on October 17, 2015 by naming the field on 3rd and Chestnut “Ben Coker Field”. Aside from these attributes, he was a loving, caring, supportive father and husband. He loved his family deeply. He enjoyed dancing, cooking, fishing, spending time with family and watching his children grow families of their own.
Ben is survived by his wife: Jeannette Coker, daughter: Amy McDade and husband Robert McDade Jr., son: Benjamin L Coker 3rd and wife Corey Coker, Brother: Jerry Coker, Sr. Grandchildren: Robbie McDade 3rd, Kamryn McDade, Andre Coker, Brielle Coker as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Terry J. Coker.

Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday February 15, 2024 at 11:00 am from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME. The interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville following services at the funeral home. A visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:00 till 11:00 am, prior to the service.
