Rev. Anthony Haynes 66, of Bridgeton suddenly passed away at home on Thursday evening January 4, 2018. Born in Savannah, Georgia on August 7, 1951, he was the son of David Truell and the late Miriam Haynes.
Anthony served as a former pastor of the Fifth Street Baptist Church in Savvanah, before moving to New Jersey. He worked for 40 years at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital as a Patient Advocate. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we are mourning the loss of a vital and beloved member of the team at the hospital. There are no words to describe how much he will be missed. It will be hard to walk into the hospital without his warm greeting and smile. Anthony was always advocating for patients and their right to autonomy. His ability to stir vibrant thoughts and conversation will not be easily replaced. Anthony was the epitome of the special dedication and empathy for geriatrics; he was their champion and protector.
