Anne J Bertolini's Obituary
Anne J. Bertolini, 97, of Bridgeton, NJ passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. Born October 16, 1927, she was a lifetime resident of the Bridgeton area and daughter of the late Bernard and Jeanie Corona. In 1950, Anne married Michael Bertolini, from that union, they had one daughter and shared 62 years together.
Anne grew up working on local farms and at a young age learned the meaning of hard work and sacrifice. She attended the local Immaculate Conception Regional School as a young girl and built a strong foundation of faith, remaining a member of The Parish of the Holy Cross throughout her life. She enjoyed reading her daily devotionals and professing her faith.
After schooling, Anne worked in local sewing factories, crafting U.S. military uniforms during World War II. Anne took great joy in raising her daughter and later in life spending time with her granddaughter. She loved her family, and her greatest joy was time spent with them. Even as her health began to decline, all who knew her got to see her in her natural light, always kind, loving, and gentle.
Anne was quite an athlete, remaining active in several sports throughout her youth and into her midlife. She loved softball, as a young woman playing for Owens- Illinois, and later in life regularly attending either men's or women’s games in the Bridgeton City Park as a spectator. In her 20’s, she was a Pike Lanes bowling league champion and gravitated towards tennis as she approached her midlife, enjoying recreational games just for fun with her peers. She also loved watching her Philadelphia Phillies.
Anne is survived by her daughter Debora Krawiec-Smith (Bill), granddaughter Gina Colson-Krawiec (Caylin), and her god-daughter Brenda Cole.
She was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Jeanie Corona (Gelbia), her husband Michael Bertolini, and nine additional siblings.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation period at the Sray- Webster Funeral Home, 62 Landis Ave. Bridgeton on Tuesday morning, April 15th from 9-10AM. A funeral mass will be held following at The Parish of the Holy Cross: Immaculate Conception Church located on Pearl Street at 10:30. Interment will take place following at the Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield.
