Anna Richmond King's Obituary
Anna Richmond King was called home suddenly and unexpected late Monday evening November 30, 2020 at her home in Fairfield Twp. She was 81 years old. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Richard Robert and Amelia Berry Richmond, and the wife of the late Robert J. “Sonny” King who died in 2012. Mrs. King was an area resident all of her life.
Anna graduated with the Class of 1957 Bridgeton High School where she was in the top third of her class. She worked at Owens Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for 25 years until their closing in 1984. She then found employment in Atlantic City with the Claridge Casino and Taj Mahal as a Cage Cashier where she worked for 15 years, and then to WalMart until her retirement. She was a devoted and longtime member of Glory Tabernacle Church where she loved her church family. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, fishing, and loved traveling and going on vacations. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who loved her family and her church. She is survived by her children, Vaughn King, Jonathan King, Ronald King, Mark King, Delase King, Tiliya King, Robin Watford, her two sisters, Darlene Richmond, Arlene Wiltshire, and brother, Preston Richman, her thirteen grandchildren, Lynette Purnell, Alexandera Clarke, Vaughn King Jr., Tara King, Shatea Denby, Armani King, Fahren Rilley, DeAndre King, Tadae King, Malachi Banks, Matthew Tard, Caleb Tard, Langston Tard, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and various relatives. Besides her parents and husband Sonny, she was predeceased by two sons, Robert King, and Jason T. King, two sisters, Della Johnson, and Phyllis Santiago, and two brothers, Robert Richmond, and Earnest Richmond. A private family only funeral service will be held on Friday December 11, 2020 from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME. Mrs. King will be laid to rest next to her husband and sons in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp.
