Elder Alphonso B. Rahming Sr.'s Obituary
Elder Alphonso B. Rahming Sr., aged 78 years of Bridgeton, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior early Thursday morning in Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Born in Boynton Beach, Florida, he had been an area resident of this area for many years. He was the son of the late Alonzo Melvin and Carrie Bell (nee Zigler) Rahming, and the husband of Linda (nee Kates) Rahming. Elder Bob as he was known, was the Chief Elder of Glory Tabernacle Church in Bridgeton where he was a long time member. He also served as a trustee, bus driver, transportation director, and sat on the Board of Directors of the church. He was retired after 23 years with the Chrysler Corporation where he worked as an electrician; and also was formerly employed with Owens Illinois for many years until their closing. He enjoyed bowling, baseball, fishing, city league softball, and had formerly served as a Little League umpire. He was a faithful Christian, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many who will be remembered by how he carried himself in his life and his works. He is survived by his wife Linda, his children: Darlene Hadley and her husband Bishop David Hadley, Alphonso B. Rahming Jr. and wife Theresa, Yvette Hadley and husband James, Tonia Hall and husband Leston Sr., Clinton Suggs Jr. and wife Melva, Michael Rahming, Kabrin Rahming, and Tyquwan Rahming, his two special sons: Deacon James Peterson and wife Mary, Deacon Kenneth Hunter and wife Angie, one sister, Dr. Sandra E.H. James, 31 grandchildren 38 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of special friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends and church family. Bob was predeceased besides his parents, by a son Jeffrey Stevenson in 2006. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at 11:00a.m. from Glory Tabernacle Church 1018 Buckshutem Road, Bridgeton. Bishop David Hadley will officiate. The interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Hopewell Twp. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 till 11:00a.m. at the church , prior to the services.
