Alexander P. Pierce's Obituary
Alexander P. Pierce, 66 of Fairfield Township, passed away early Friday morning, November 4, 2011 under hospice care, at his residence surrounded by his family. He had been in failing health for the past few months.
Born February 9, 1945, he was the son of the late Vernon P. and Catherine Pierce, Mr. Pierce had been a resident of the Fairfield Twp. area all of his life and still lived on his family's farm homestead. Mr. Pierce was a mason and bricklayer by trade and was in the International Brick Layers and Allied Craftsman union until his retirement in 2001. He had also worked for the former Craner Construction Company in Bridgeton for 24 years, and drove truck for RDS Trucking prior to his working in the union. After his retirement, he enjoyed working with his sons, Vernon and Alexander, on their family farm, and his son Vernon's business, Pierce Septic Service. He also was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and adored his grandchildren, and his newly born great granddaughter. Surviving him are his two sons Vernon W. Pierce and his wife Jeanna of Fairfield Twp., and Alexander P. Street and his wife Kelli of Carmel, a step daughter Cheryl Pierce of Vineland, his loving companion Dorothy Pierce of Fairfield Twp., and the loving mother of his two sons, Janet Street of Bridgeton., his sister Reba Vega and her husband Angel of Vineland, five grandchildren Katelynn Street, Allysin Street, Joseph Pierce, Malarie Kegg, and Charles Jacob Pierce, one great granddaughter Alayna Snow, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased besides his parents, by a sister Emmaline Gould, and three brothers Harry S. Pierce, Edward Pierce, and Carl "Buster" Pierce.
