Albert Walden's Obituary
Albert Walden departed this life on Friday, December 5, 2015 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Albert was born on March 29, 1932
in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, State of Georgia to the late Frank Walden and Lanie Mae Walden.
Albert attended the Swainsboro Public School system. He worked for several factories, farms, and an oyster boat. Albert enjoyed gardening, working on cars, and the laughter of children. He first received the Holy Ghost at a young age in 1940 at the House of God Church in Adrian, Georgia. Prior to his passing, Albert restored his relationship with Christ. He especially loved cooking for family passing through town; he was most noted for his collard greens and sweet potatoes pies. Above all Albert loved to entertain his family. He had a great zeal for life and wanted to share it with the world. Even during the worst times of his illness, he continued to encourage others whom he encountered while a resident at Caring Heart Rehabilitation, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was known for being an ardent advocate for patient’s rights. Albert strived to remain positive and strong during his illness with the help of God. He leaves to cherish his memories his sister Elma Spearman of Detroit, Michigan, daughter Amanda W. Washington of Swainsboro, GA, son Luther (Lobina) Tolbert of Newport News, VA, special Niece/Care Provider- Brenda (Nichols) Wheatley of East Orange, NJ, special Friend/ Cousin- Willie Lee Williams of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 10 grandchildren (one predeceased), 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, aunts, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Albert was predeceased by: his sister Christine (Walden) Purnell and brothers Homer Lee Walden Sr., Little Sim Walden (died at child birth) and Willie Junior Walden (died at child birth), as well as Lucille Todd the love of his life of over 50 years. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. A viewing will be held from 11:00a.m. till 12:00 prior to the services. The interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Township.
