Thomas A. Lemon, Sr.

September 13, 1929 - August 31, 2006

Thomas A. ?Bigshot? Lemon 76 of Bridgeton died early Thursday morning August 31, 2006 in South Jersey Healthcare Bridgeton where he had been a patient one day in the Hospice Care Unit. His death was unexpected. Born in Burkeville, Virginia he was the son of the late John W. And Laurene Gee Lemon, and the husband of Delores nee Lloyd Lemon. Mr. Lemon attended public school in the Virginia area and moved to the Bridgeton area in his late teens, where he met and married his wife Delores of 55 years. In his early years he learned to drive tractor trailers and was employed with the former Tischler Motors in Rosenhayn and later was employed with Minot Inc. In Bridgeton until his retirement in 1994. He was an avid CB enthusiast and operated under the handle ?Bigshot?. He loved working in his vegetable garden and was known for his meticulous care and manicuring of his lawn. He was and avid Eagles fan and enjoyed playing the lottery often twice a day. Mr. Lemon was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army. Surviving Mr. Lemon besides his wife are two sons Thomas A Lemon Jr. and his wife Julia of Hopewell Township and Neil W. Lemon and his wife Lorii of Galloway Township, two daughters Patti E. Thomas of Bridgeton and Sandra Pheobe Bowman and her husband Stephen of Vineland, one brother John R. Lemon, of Wilmington DE, five grandchildren Lori Lemon, Stephen Bowman Jr., Jerel Harris, Sean Bowman, and Rhyan Lemon, two great grandchildren Briana Lemon, and Tiara Lemon, and a host of cousins, neices and nephews. Besides his mother and father he was predeceased by two brothers Hampton Gee and Benjamin W. Lemon and one sister Mary Esther Knight. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 62 Landis Ave.Carll?s Corner, Upper Deerfield Township with the Rev. Robert Downing officiating. The interment will take place in the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery , Hopewell Township. Family and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the services.
