Larry V. Ridgeway

October 22, 1948 - February 13, 2010

Larry V. Ridgeway, 61 of Bridgeton died suddenly Saturday evening February 13, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. Although he had been in declining health for the past few years, his death was sudden and unexpected. Larry was born in Bridgeton to the late Manford N.Sr. and Mary A. nee Robinson Ridgeway, and was raised in Fairfield Twp. He had also previously lived for a short time in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. Larry attended Bridgeton High School and was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indian Tribe of Bridgeton. He was active in gatherings involved with the tribe and always looked forward to spending time with the elders. He especially enjoyed and looked forward to the Tuesday Elder luncheons held at the tribal grounds. The past seven years he has enjoyed traveling with his loving caregiver Cynthia Mosley, to over 80 Indian Tribes and reservations throughout the United States. He and Cindy were returning home from a trip to a reservation in Texas, when he was taken ill at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta. He had a love for horses and enjoyed as his father Manford did, the South Jersey Pony Trotters Association and the many races they held throughout South Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. In the past few years he had developed an interest in politics, and enjoyed watching C Span television. He was a long time member of St. John United Methodist Church, Fordville. Surviving him besides his caregiver Cynthia, and her family are his two sons Michael Ridgeway of Millville, and Brian Ridgeway of Delaware, a sister Cheryl A. Ridgeway of Malaga, and his two brothers Manford N. Ridgeway Jr. of Ocean City, NJ and Charles A. Ridgeway of Stow Creek Twp. three grandchildren and several cousins.
