Joseph Kohansky

Joseph Kohansky 94, of Millville passed away on Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter. He had been in failing health for the past few months. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son the late Michael and Rose nee Barnowska Kohansky and the husband of Virginia Kohansky and the late Mary Josephine Kohansky his first wife. Mr. Kohansky was a self employed farmer for most of his life and he enjoyed gardening. In his younger years he loved to hunt and raised beagles and horses on the farm. Joseph was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Army in the European, African-Middle Eastern Theaters. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. He enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by three daughters Alanna Kohansky of Bridgeton, Joanna Soltys and her husband David of Millville, and Roseanna Sias and her husband Dennis of Millville, two sisters Rose Panczyszyn of Millville and Sophie Zeller of Bridgeton, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Joseph was predeceased by four brothers Tony, Pete, Charles, and Stanley Kohansky and one sister Ann Ruthig.
