Ida R. Webster

Ida R. Webster 89, of Fairton, passed away at her residence Thursday afternoon December 27, 2012 with her family by her side. She had been in failing health for the past year. Born in Cheswold, Delaware she was the daughter of the late George and Rheba (nee Mosley) Carter, and the wife of the late Elmer Webster who passed in 1993. Ida was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service for 28 years until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church, Gouldtown for many years, and she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking. She and her late husband, enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Florida, and she always looked forward to a Christmas dinner of Ham and Cabbage. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many grandchildren. Ida is survived by her six children Elizabeth “Libby” Pierce and husband Alvin, Elwood “Phillip” Webster and his wife Emma, Joel Webster and his wife Charline, Charles Milton Webster and his wife Eleanor, Eloise “Susie” Pierce and her husband Calvin, and Estella “Stella” Adkins and her husband Bobby all of Fairton, her one brother George Calvin Carter of Cheswold, Delaware, ten grandchildren a number of great grandchildren and two great great grands. She was predeceased besides her husband by one grandson Kevin Pierce. Funeral services will be held on Monday December 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, 62 Landis Ave. at Carll’s Corner, Upper Deerfield Twp. The interment will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park, Fairfield Twp. Friends may call on Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning one hour prior to the services.
