Gladys Y. Trusty 69, of Hopewell Twp. passed away suddenly on Monday January 10, 2011 at her residence. Her death was unexpected. Born in Elizabeth, NJ she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Miriam nee Carpenter Branham, and the wife of the late Leon R. Trusty Sr. who passed away in 1997. Mrs. Trusty had been an area resident since 1970 and previously had lived in the Washington DC area. After high school she attended and graduated from Columbia Union College in Tacoma Park, Maryland with a degree in Nursing, she then moved to New Jersey and graduated from Glassboro State College with a degree in education. She taught for many years in the Morris Goodwin School in Greenwich Twp.. Gladys continued her education and earned her Masters degree in education and after retirement from the Greenwich Board of Education she served as a Principal in a private school in Pennsylvania. She was very active in and a long time member of her church, Ebenezer Seventh Day Adventist Church in Philadelphia where she held several offices including teaching Sabbath School and Music. She loved life and will be missed by many. Surviving her is Ruth McKenzie, whom she raised like a daughter, her four step children David W. Trusty of Maryland, Susan T. James and her husband Herbert of Sicklerville, John A. Trusty and his wife Caren of Maryland, and Leon R. Trusty Jr. of Vineland, her sister Sandra Branham of Atlanta, GA, and one brother Thomas Branham and his wife Judy of Brooklyn, NY., eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of relatives, family and friends.
