George W. Chambers Jr.

George W. Chambers Jr., aged 91 years of Pittsgrove Township, passed away Wednesday afternoon October 7, 2015 in Inspira Medical Center, Elmer. Born in Delanco, NJ, he was the son of the late George W. Sr. and Gertrude (nee Belcher) Chambers, and the husband of the late Jean Elizabeth (nee Jaggers) Chambers. George was previously a resident of the Bridgeton area and had been employed until his retirement in 1986 with Suburban Propane where he drove truck for 35 years. He was a World War II Veteran serving proudly in the US Coast Guard. He was an original picker, who loved tinkering with anything and everything. He enjoyed gardening, watching old westerns, especially John Wayne, and he loved listening to the music of Shania Twain. He especially loved and enjoyed sharing time with his adopted family and caregivers, Tracie and Karl Hitzelberger. George is survived by his caregivers, Tracie and Karl Hitzelberger of Pittsgrove Twp. and their children, Karl C. and Ashlie Hitzelberger, and many friends. He was predeceased besides his wife Jean, a sister, Elizabeth Chambers. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday October 14, 2015 at 11:00a.m. from Ramoth Church, 2725 North Delsea Drive (on the corner of Delsea and Forest Grove Rd) Vineland, NJ. The interment will be in Laurel Lawn Cemetery, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends may call on Tuesday evening at the church from 7:00 to 9:00p.m. and also on Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. prior to the services at the church.
